Meet Alex Ciaramitaro

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alex Ciaramitaro . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alex below.

Alex, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?

My optimism stems from my constant effort to maintain a positive outlook on life and to find the good in people and situations. I firmly believe that there is always something positive to be found, even in challenging circumstances.

Dogs play a significant role in reinforcing this belief. Their unwavering joy, simple pleasures like a walk in the park or a tasty treat, and their unconditional love serve as a reminder to embrace every moment and appreciate the beauty in the world around us.

I believe that by embracing the simplicity and joy that dogs embody, we can all lead happier lives. This means spending more time in nature, cherishing the moments we have with each other, and not allowing ourselves to be bogged down by the negativity that often surrounds us.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

We specialize in local, in-home pet sitting services in the Middle Tennessee area. What sets us apart is our unique approach to pet care: the majority of our team members work remote jobs, and pet sitting is a rewarding side gig for them. This means that your pets will have company for most of the day. We spend 8 hours working remotely from your home, 8 hours sleeping there, and the remaining 8 hours provide us with the flexibility to step out for necessities like grabbing food, running errands, or hitting the gym, while still ensuring your pet’s needs are met. Throughout the day, we’re happy to provide updates, including pictures and videos of your furry friends, to ensure their happiness and safety.

Our exclusive focus on in-home pet sitting means you never have to worry about double bookings or rushed drop-ins. Your pets receive our full attention, and we also take care of your home while you’re away. We’re committed to providing a stress-free experience for both you and your pets, ensuring peace of mind while you’re apart.

Rate: $75 per day + $10 add-on per additional pets.

*Extra +$5 per day over holiday weekends.

New Year’s, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, & Christmas.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Reflecting on my journey, I believe three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge have been most impactful. Firstly, my ability to easily connect with people has been a great asset. I am naturally sociable and find it easy to engage in conversations with individuals of all backgrounds and ages. This has been particularly useful in hosting various social events where I’ve had the opportunity to meet new people and build relationships.

Secondly, my love for animals has played a significant role. Having had dogs my entire life and cared for over 10 dogs and 2 cats, I have developed a deep bond with animals. They are not just pets to me; they are family. This passion for animals translates into the care and attention I provide to all the pets under my care.

Lastly, my background in photography and social media has been beneficial for my business. It has allowed me to effectively advertise my services online, reaching a wider audience and attracting potential clients. Additionally, I enjoy sharing cute and funny dog videos, which not only entertains but also promotes my business in a unique way.

Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?

Yes, currently, my main challenge is staffing my team and keeping up with the demand. The majority of my team members are long-time personal acquaintances of mine, so I have a high level of trust in them. However, I am facing the departure of a few team members and changes in availability. Mary, who has been a valuable asset with her past pet sitting experience and owned her own pet sitting business in Oregon named ‘FurriendsPDX,’ is relocating back to Portland with her husband before summer. Reese’s college schedule has become less flexible, and Hannah recently accepted a job offer with a medical group in South Carolina, requiring her to be away for training. I am hesitant to turn away any clients for fear of losing their business, , but I also recognize the risk of spreading myself too thin by taking on too much. Additionally having a challenge adding someone to the team who is not a personal friend, not fully knowing if I could trust them.
